Equipment Advisory: Upcoming transmission line work (Updated)

Work on the Transmission line from Sunnyside to Western Avalon is now complete.


Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) wishes to advise customers about upcoming work on transmission lines servicing the Avalon Peninsula.

A transmission line running from Western Avalon to Hardwoods (Paradise) will be offline 7am until 7pm on June 12; and a transmission line from Bay d’Espoir to Sunnyside will be offline on June 13 for several hours (weather permitting).

Work on a transmission line from Sunnyside to Western Avalon is expected to start on June 14 and will take about two weeks to complete more extensive annual maintenance work. This line will be taken offline daily and restored for service at the end of each day.

There is no anticipated customer impact as a result of this work. This advisory is part of our commitment to keep customers informed on the status of the provincial electricity system.
