Work was completed and the transmission line was returned to service as planned.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising of maintenance activities on one of its transmission lines servicing the Avalon Peninsula.

The transmission line from Western Avalon to Holyrood has been removed from service this morning (February 17) and is expected to return to service this evening. There are no customer impacts as a result of this work. In addition, Avalon generation reserves are strong and fully able to meet customer needs.

This advisory is part of Hydro’s commitment to keep customers informed on the status of the electricity system and system events.
