Equipment Advisory (UPDATED) – Holyrood Maintenance Work

UPDATE:

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising that Units 2 and 3 at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station are fully available to the system after completion of maintenance work.

Previous Advisory

Sept 9, 2015 – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising that Unit 3 at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station has been taken offline for additional maintenance for a period of up to five days. Units 1 and 2 are also currently offline for their annual maintenance.

Unit 2 is scheduled to be available for service at the end of September and Unit 1 in early November.

Hydro has sufficient generation reserves and there is no customer impact from this equipment outage.

Hydro’s equipment maintenance is a critical part of ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable electricity service to customers. All planned system outages are evaluated to eliminate or minimize potential customer impacts.

Any changes to the status of the electricity system and or any significant system events will be communicated to customers.
