Update – October 16

As planned, one unit was returned to service on Friday, October 13.  The second unit is progressing through planned maintenance and remains on schedule for return to service in late October.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising customers that both generating units at the Cat Arm hydroelectric generating facility are currently offline for planned maintenance. Both units are out of service while the work is carried out. One of the units will be back in service mid-October, and the second unit will return to operation in late October.

Generation reserves are sufficient and there is no anticipated customer impact as a result of this work.

This equipment advisory is part of Hydro’s commitment to keep customers informed on the status of the electricity system.
