On January 29, 2019 upon starting a fuel oil pump at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station, a higher than normal amount of fuel was delivered to the boiler resulting in some abnormal emissions for a short period of time (less than ten minutes).

We wish to assure residents that there are no health concerns or risks due to this event. Hydro is committed to its environmental monitoring programs at the plant and will advise residents if there are concerns.

There is no impact to our ability to reliably serve our electricity customers as a result of this event.
