ROAD TRIP READY ENERGY
We’re ready to help EV drivers get rolling across this great province. After all, road trips are all about recharging.

By early 2021, our network of 14 charging locations from St. John’s to Port aux Basques will enable EV users to drive across the island without having to worry about where to plug in next. EV users will now have access to public fast chargers at convenient locations averaging every 70km along the TCH, as well as one charger in Gros Morne National Park. Most chargers will be located at popular rest stops and service stations, making it easier than ever to charge on the go.
We’re charged up about this project for so many reasons, but most importantly, it’s about increasing EV use in the province while contributing to lower emissions and helping protect our environment for future generations. The best part about driving electric here in Newfoundland and Labrador is that most of our power comes from clean, renewable sources such as hydroelectricity and wind. By making the switch, you can support a more sustainable future in our province.
The network will also connect the province with the fast-charging stations already established throughout Canada.
What you’ll see at each charging station
You can expect an efficient charge with the power to fast-charge your EV to 80% in under an hour – seeing you back on the road in no time! Each of the 14 charging stations will have:
Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost to charge my EV at one of the stations?
For Level 3 chargers (62.5 kW) the cost to charge will be $15/hour. For Level 2 chargers (7.2 kW) the cost to charge will be $1.50/hour. Partial hours will be billed per minute (on a prorated basis). These rates are comparable to the cost to charge on other networks in Atlantic Canada.
You will receive a notification from the ChargePoint App when your vehicle is charged, and you will then have 10 minutes to unplug and move your vehicle. After the 10 minute period, users will continue to be charged at the same price until they disconnect from the charger. To help ensure chargers are available for other users, we encourage you to move your EV as soon as charging is complete.
