Crews testing transmission lines in Labrador and on the Island September 20 to October 4. No customer impacts.
September 20, 2021
As part of commissioning of the Labrador Island Link (LIL), live testing of the Electrode Line Fault Locator technology is planned for the next several days. This technology will help teams locate issues along the electrode line in Labrador from Muskrat Fall to Forteau, and on the Island from Dowden’s Point to Soldiers Pond. It is our priority to ensure your continued safety as this work is completed.
Testing of both the Labrador and Island sections of Electrode Line will take place intermittently from September 20 to October 4, 2021 between 7am and 7pm at sites near Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Forteau, and St. John’s.
Safety crews will be onsite during testing. It is normal to observe a loud noise and a flash during testing. For your safety, always use caution when travelling near all transmission lines, electrical facilities, and equipment, and please obey all safety advisories.
