Sponsorship & Donation Requests

We proudly support communities around Newfoundland and Labrador, and always welcome new requests for donations or sponsorship.

Criteria

All requests for donations, sponsorships or in-kind support should focus on one of the following areas: safety and mental health, environment, STEM, social and community well-being, and diversity and inclusion initiatives in Hydro service areas.

Please note that we are unable to consider requests for:

  • Organizations that are not Canadian registered charities or non-profit groups
  • For-profit organizations
  • Individuals or private foundations or clubs
  • Service clubs, commercial solicitors or third parties raising funds for a charity
  • Religious organizations or any religiously affiliated groups
  • Political organizations, candidates and/or lobby/advocacy groups

The following types of funding are also not eligible:

  • Travel, accommodations, meal expenses, conference fees, field trips and tours
  • Feasibility studies
  • Debt-reduction or core operating expenses
  • Direct-mail campaigns
  • Statues, monuments and memorials

What to Include in Your Submission

Please refer to our Application Details & Checklist as a guide for details about the type of information you should include when submitting a request to Hydro. You may also include supporting documentation/information that could be helpful in reviewing your initiative (such as a more detailed description, proposal, etc.).

How to Apply

  1. Confirm that your initiative aligns with one of Hydro’s focus areas, identified above.
  2. Complete your submission or proposal using the Application Details & Checklist as a guide.
  3. While we accept applications at any time, please note that funding is limited. We recommend that you submit your application as far in advance as possible of your project/event.
  4. Submit your application and any supporting information to:

You can expect to hear from us in about two to four weeks after you apply. All applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until our annual Community Investment Program budget has been exhausted.
