The Churchill Falls Generating Station is advising the public of a potential controlled water release to occur from the upper Churchill reservoir at the Jacopie Spillway over the coming week. This is due to increased precipitation in the region.

The public is advised to avoid the Jacopie boat launch area accessing Flour Lake.

We continue to carefully monitor our reservoir systems to ensure we are maintaining safe water levels. We will update the public once the potential has ended or if a controlled release will take place.

Safety is always our number one priority. The public is advised to always use extreme caution around dykes, dams and spillways as water levels in these areas are always unpredictable.
