ADVISORY Update November 13 – Controlled releases of water at multiple locations
Update November 13
Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers that releases of water are ongoing.
In the Jackson’s Arm and White Bay areas on Newfoundland’s Great Northern Peninsula the Company is releasing water at the Cat Arm Spillway into the Cat Arm River.
In the Star Lake are of Central Newfoundland the Company is releasing water at the Star Lake Spillway into Star Brook and then Red Indian Lake.
There is a potential that releases will be required at other locations:
In the Granite Canal area accessed from Central Newfoundland the Company is no longer bypassing water at the Granite Canal Bypass Structure or releasing water at the Granite Canal Spillway and the Granite Overflow Dykes along Burnt Dam access road into Grey River but additional rainfall could result in the need to release again.
People are advised to use these areas with great caution as water levels and flows are unpredictable.
