Silver Lights Club

SilverLightsresizedRetirees or employees with 25+ years of service automatically become members of the Silver Lights Club, which gives them and their immediate family members the chance to get involved in community life in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Consultation and support
In addition to being available to offer support and advice to retiring employees, Club members participate in the annual Safety and Health Week and have given talks on retirement and life after retirement.

Community at large
Focused on contributing resources and expertise for the good of the community, the Club supports several local organizations, including the Seniors Resource Centre, Community Food Sharing Association, Diabetes Association, School Lunch Program, and Adopt-a-Highway. Club members also work with our Community Investment Program to donate computers to local schools and not-for-profit organizations.

Archives
The Club acts as a historical advisory committee, maintaining several displays at Hydro Place in St. John’s, collecting artifacts, and building a photo collection. Members are committed to preserving the history of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.

Quarterly newsletter
The Club publishes a quarterly newsletter to keep members up-to-date on current topics, health and safety issues, and blasts from the past. Email silverlights@nlh.nl.ca to request a copy of the latest newsletter or browse past issues in our newsletter archives below.
